RICHMOND, British Columbia (July 22, 2004) — The British Columbia Safety Council (BCSC), a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing injuries and accidents, will act as a reseller of SmarTire Systems Inc.'s tire pressure monitoring systems.
The BCSC will market the SmarTire for Motorcycles product to its students to raise awareness and promote the importance of correct tire pressure for motorcycle safety.
The BCSC also will sell and promote the entire line of SmarTire products for buses, recreational vehicles, commercial vehicles and automobiles as part of its various fleet and corporate driver training courses.
“At the BCSC, we are very aware of the critical importance of maintaining proper tire pressure regardless of the vehicle you are driving,” said Ian Thomas, manager road safety and traffic education services at the BCSC. “This is even more important when you are riding a motorcycle as the margin for error is smaller and even a few psi can make a difference. SmarTire's TPMS products offer a level of awareness and warning that can be a lifesaver when a tire-related problem occurs.”
SmarTire said its products are designed to give real-time monitoring to make the driver aware of the tires' operating state.
