PHILADELPHIA (July 13, 2004) — Hawk Performance, a brand of Wellman Products Group, launched a July 1 rollout of its complete line of street brake pads in Pep Boys—Manny, Moe & Jack stores nationwide.
Steve Campbell, Wellman's president, said in a prepared statement that Pep Boys “services all three kinds of customers: the DIY (Do-It-Yourselfer), the DIFM (Do-It-For-Me) and the commercial customer. This makes Pep Boys a perfect fit with Wellman….”
The Philadelphia-based retailer is offering Hawk products in all of its 595 stores—representing more than 6,000 service bays in 36 states and Puerto Rico.
Hawk said it intends to offer brake pads for virtually all makes and models of auto, light truck and sport-utility vehicles. Pep Boys store workers are receiving training and technical support from Hawk personnel, it added.
