NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 12, 2004) — The Bridgestone Firestone Trust Fund has donated more than $1.7 million to about 75 charitable and community organizations for the first half of the year, the tire maker said.
The trust fund makes contributions to non-profit organizations that address children's issues, education initiatives and environment and conservation programs, BFS said.
“The various communities that Bridgestone Americas calls home are important to our company,” said Chris Karbowiak, chair of the trust fund and vice president of public affairs for BFS. “We take pride in the fact that the Bridgestone Firestone Trust Fund allows us to give back to our neighbors and provide assistance to so many organizations in the communities where we live and work.”
