BEDFORD, TEXAS (July 6, 2004) — The Automotive Service Association (ASA) and AutoZone Inc. have launched a program offering ASA members rebates on their commercial parts purchases through AutoZone parts stores.
Geralynn Kottschade, ASA chairman and owner of Jerry's Body Shop Inc. in Mankato, Minn., called the new partnership with AutoZone “a win-win situation for our members. More than half of our membership is within five miles of an AutoZone store. This alliance could not only be a convenient way to buy commercial parts, but the monthly rebate program has the potential to boost shop revenue.”
AutoZone, considered the No. 1 auto parts retailer in the country, also owns ALLDATA, a marketer of diagnostic and repair information software.
“This alliance will allow the shop owner to increase parts coverage and service levels, and we believe that brings real value to these elite businesses,” said Steve Handschuh, AutoZone senior vice president for AutoZone Commercial, in a prepared statement.
Mark Mills, AutoZone's national account manager for ASA, said his company “is able to be more than just a parts provider—we are a business partner that is focused on helping ASA continue its legacy into this challenging future we all face.”
Bedford-based ASA represents more than 12,000 businesses and approximately 65,000 professionals from all segments of the automotive service industry.
AutoZone sells auto and light truck parts, chemicals and accessories through more than 3,400 AutoZone stores in 48 states and the District of Columbia in the U.S. and 58 AutoZone stores in Mexico.
