MADISON, Tenn. (June 21, 2004) — Marangoni S.p.A. President Gianni Marangoni cut the ribbon June 17 on the new Marangoni Tread North America Inc. plant in Madison, Marangoni's first manufacturing facility in North America.
The 50,000-sq.-ft. plant is devoted to Verona, Italy-based Marangoni's patented Ringtread tread rubber process, in which the rubber is molded in one continual circle, fitting the contour of the tire and eliminating the splice.
“Through continual improvements and development in this product, it's now the best in the world,” Mr. Marangoni said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Marangoni dealers and by local and state officials.
Building the Madison plant signifies Marangoni's “total commitment” to the North American market, said Giuseppe Marangoni, Gianni Marangoni's son and operations manager for Marangoni Tread North America. “Having this technology set up here means we're here to stay,” he said.
