California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger recently appointed two new members to the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB), bringing the six-member board up to full voting capacity.
The governor tapped Rosario Marin and Rosalie Mule to the board, which oversees the state's solid waste and scrap tire management activities. The board last year implemented a controversial tire manifest rule that California retreaders and the Tire Retread Information Bureau have vehemently opposed.
Ms. Marin was appointed U.S. Treasurer by President George W. Bush in 2001 and served until 2003. She has served in various governmental positions, including as Huntington Park, Calif., mayor and city council member, and as deputy director of the Office of Community Relations for California Gov. Pete Wilson from 1997-98.
Ms. Mule has served as director of municipal development for Waste Management of the Inland Empire since 2003. She also has served in government affairs positions for Waste Management of Florida and Waste Management's Southwest Florida Division.
