AKRON (April 23, 2004)—Goodyear's television advertising campaign for its new Assurance tires will begin on Monday, April 26, airing on national network and cable television.
The ads will air on ABC, CBS and NBC as well as cable networks ESPN, MSNBC, TBS, CNBC, The Discovery Channel and The History Channel.
The 30-second TV spot features a car and driver in a range of weather conditions highlighting the performance of the new Goodyear Assurance Triple Tred tire.
Goodyear is airing the spots on a wide variety of shows from sporting events, such as the Kentucky Derby and National Basketball Association playoffs, talk shows such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, prime time drama series and targeted cable programs like American Chopper.
“The intent of the television campaign is to kickoff the retail availability of the Assurance products,” said a company spokesman.
Goodyear also looks to gain exposure for the new tires through a 90-second film that is intended as a preview before feature films in AMC theaters during the month of May, debuting May 7. The film is an extended variation of the TV commercial, the spokesman said.
