WASHINGTON (April 1, 2004) — More than 8,000 tire retail stores across the U.S. will distribute the Rubber Manufacturers Association's “Be Tire Smart” brochures during National Tire Safety Week April 25 to May 1, more than doubling last year 's participation, according to the RMA.
The association plans to issue more than 3.5 million brochures to participating outlets and also will host live radio broadcasts nationwide as part of a radio media tour.
The Tire Industry Association, all RMA tire manufacturing members, several state tire dealer associations and more than 20 major tire retail chains are working with the RMA to support and publicize the event, the RMA said. Also, the governors of Connecticut, Maryland, Nebraska, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin have issued proclamations in support of National Tire Safety Week.
This is the third year the RMA has sponsored the event.
