GREENVILLE, S.C. (March 30, 2004) — Michelin North America Inc.'s BFGoodrich brand will offer 20 sets of tires and wheels for a “test drive” for consumers at the Easter Jeep Safari Apr. 5-9 in Moab, Utah.
The tire brand will offer the tires to consumers on a first-come, first-served basis as part of the “Try Me” program. Available tires will include the Mud-Terrain T/A KM tire and the Krawler T/A KX tire. They will be available in a variety of sizes. BFGoodrich signed on with Chip's Grand Tire, a dealer in Moab, to sell tires to consumers through the event.
“What better way to choose a tire than having the opportunity to try it for yourself,” said Gary Enterline, light truck category manager for the tire brand. “This unique program lets consumers test drive our tires on some of the most demanding trails in the West and gives them the option to purchase tires through a local BFGoodrich tire dealer.”
The tire brand will give the used tires to the dealership for customer demonstrations throughout the year.
To be eligible, drivers must sign up at the BFGoodrich display, present a valid driver's license and sign a waiver. Technicians will remove and store the customers' existing tires and wheels and mount the test tires. At the end of the day, they will replace them with the customers' equipment. The “Try Me” program is offered at select off-road events throughout the year, Michelin said.
