FONTANA, Calif. (March 30, 2004) — Aimed at promoting its new ultra-high performance Ecsta ASX all-season tire, Kumho Tire U.S.A. is kicking off a sweepstakes for the spring and summer sales seasons.
Dubbed the AsXtreme Sweepstakes, the tire maker will give away more than 1,100 prizes, including the grand prize—a customized Mini Cooper S valued at $25,000. The car is equipped with a number of aftermarket goodies including a set of Kumho Ecsta ASX tires; 17-inch BBS custom wheels; a Supersprint performance exhaust system; a Promini racing filter, stress bar and instrument console; H&R performance springs and sway bars; and high-performance plug wires, cross-drilled rotors, stainless steel brake lines and performance brake pads from BMP Design.
Other prizes include 10 sets of Ecsta ASX tires, 100 roadside emergency kits, and 1,000 Kumho CD cases, the Fontana-based tire maker said.
The sweepstakes is under way and will run through Sept. 30. No purchase is necessary to enter. Kumho said consumers can pick up entry forms at any of the more than 3,000 Kumho dealers across the country. The company is promoting the event with free promo kits sent out to dealers this week that include tire inserts, banners and counter cards with entry forms.
Mike Leverington, Kumho's director of marketing, said the company has “taken a new direction with our marketing efforts in 2004 and are focusing on grassroots motorsports and the UHP market. We've previously conducted sales promos, but have never done a sweepstakes like this.”
