GREENVILLE, S.C. (March 26, 2004) — Michelin North America Inc.'s BFGoodrich brand is renaming its line of Comp T/A Drag Radials to g-Force T/A Drag Radial, due in stores April 1.
The new name reflects the brand's strategy of grouping the high-performance tires under the g-Force T/A name, the tire maker said. Initially, the tire will keep the Comp T/A tread pattern with a change in the tire's sidewall and naming. Eventually BFGoodrich plans to discontinue the Comp T/A tread pattern and replace it with a new tread design.
The line features 23 sizes ranging from 14- to 18-inch rim diameters. Changes will be phased in during the second and third quarter with all changes complete by the fourth quarter this year, Michelin said.
“The performance and the reputation of the Comp T/A Drag Radial will live on as a part of the g-Force T/A Drag Radial line,” said Todd Steen, motorsports marketing manager for the BFGoodrich brand.
