FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (March 17, 2004) — Michelin North America Inc. is offering a satisfaction guarantee for first-time users of its X One wide single tire line.
The tire maker launched its “X One Total Satisfaction Guarantee” program at The Maintenance Council (TMC) trucking show this week in Ft. Lauderdale.
The guarantee is available to new X One tire customers who purchase at least four replacement X One tire assemblies. It covers the first 10 X One tire sets purchased for the first 60 days. Greenville, S.C.-based Michelin said will take back the tires and provide a full refund if the customer is not satisfied.
The X One replaces dual tire sets with just one tire on tandem-axle tractors and trailers.
“Michelin's X One wide single tire line has been phenomenally successful since its launch in November 2000,” said Marc Laferriere, vice president of marketing, Michelin Americas Truck Tires. “Now, we've overcome all uncertainties, which are normally associated with new technologies, and all fleet owners can see the benefits of X One tires for themselves.”
Michelin claims fuel and weight savings are key components of its X One tire. As part of its guarantee, the company said it will buy back X One casings and will cover 75 percent of the cost of the wheels if the owner isn't pleased with the tire's performance at the end of its original tread life.
The X One line is available through original equipment manufacturers as well as for replacement through Michelin dealers and at travel plazas nationwide, Michelin said.
