SAN FELIPE, Mexico (March 2, 2004) —BFGoodrich tires swept every class in which they were running, including the overall victory in the San Felipe 250 sprint race.
Mark Post scored his first overall win and first win in the Trophy Truck class this year, according to the tire maker, while other BFG-backed teams scored 15 of 16 class wins and the top 10 positions overall.
Frank DeAngelo, off-road motorsports manager for BFGoodrich Tires, a unit of Michelin North America Inc., said the company was “extremely pleased with each of our team's efforts and we're particularly happy about the Baja T/A's performance in a race that has gained a reputation for being one of the fastest races on the schedule.”
The BFG Baja T/AKR helped four wheel teams beat the motorcycles to the finish line—the first time ever this has happened in a SCORE desert race, the company said. The Baja T/A is the only professional-grade ultra-high-performance tire offered to the public, BFG said. It has racked up 18 consecutive victories in the Baja 1000, off-road racing's legendary endurance race.
