AKRON (Feb. 4, 2004) — A Delphi Corp. executive has been elected the 10th member of Goodyear's board of directors.
The tire maker said Rodney O'Neal, president of Delphi's Dynamics, Propulsion, Thermal & Interior Sector, is a 33-year veteran of the auto industry. In his post at the auto parts maker, Mr. O'Neal also is responsible for operations in Europe and South America plus he serves as executive champion for its Ford Motor Co. customer team. Delphi was spun off from General Motors Corp. in 1999.
“Rodney has demonstrated outstanding leadership throughout his many business management successes at General Motors and Delphi,” said Robert Keegan, chairman and CEO of Goodyear. “We are confident he will make significant contributions to our board.”
The tire maker's board comprises 10 members, nine of whom are independent.
