GREENVILLE, S.C. (Jan. 26, 2004) — Michelin North America Inc.'s Uniroyal brand has unveiled a new Tiger Paw Touring line of tires aimed at passenger car and minivan owners, the tire maker said.
The tire line will be available April 1 in 36 sizes, including 22 T-speed rated sizes and 14 H-rated sizes. Tires with a V-speed rating will be introduced in the future. The T-rated sizes—which will replace the existing Tiger Paw Touring TR line of 16 sizes—carries an 80,000-mile limited treadwear warranty. The Touring TR line carried a 70,000-mile limited warranty.
H- and V-rated tires will feature a 55,000-mile warranty. The Tiger Paw Touring HR name will be dropped, and the tires will be available in the new line as H-rated tires.
Michelin said that during testing the Uniroyal tire demonstrated outstanding wear, improved dry and wet braking and handling, resistance to hydroplaning and overall improved noise.
The touring tire is designed to fit a range of cars and minivans, including the Toyota Camry, the Honda Accord and the Dodge Caravan.
