WASHINGTON (Jan. 26, 2004) — The Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) is teaming up with the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality to present a conference about scrap tire issues in various states.
The RMA said the conference, June 2-4 in Omaha, Neb., will focus on scrap tire concerns in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Colorado, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Illinois, Arkansas and Minnesota.
“This is a region that still presents many unique challenges to the scrap tire industry,” said Michael Blumenthal, senior technical director of the RMA.
The conference will feature talks on participating states' regulatory and legislative programs as well as major markets for scrap tires. Other issues will be broached.
The RMA also in 2004 will co-sponsor programs with the Recycled Rubber Topical Group on ground rubber issues and with the Rubber Association of Canada to present the bi-annual RAC/RMA Rubber Conference.
