TOKYO (Jan. 22, 2004) — Rising costs of natural rubber and other raw materials spurred Bridgestone Corp. to announce price increases on tire products in Asia, Oceania, the Middle East, Africa and Russia.
The Tokyo-based tire maker said prices will rise about 5 percent—and the increases will vary by product and by market. The increases apply to Bridgestone- and Firestone-brand tires for passenger cars, light trucks, trucks and buses.
The hikes are being implemented in stages from Jan. 1.
