AKRON (Jan. 12, 2004) — General Motors Corp. has selected Goodyear run-flat tires for its new 2004 Cadillac CTS-V high-performance luxury sedan as well as the redesigned 2005 Chevrolet Corvette, the Akron-based tire maker
GM´s Cadillac division will offer Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar run-flats in size P245/45WR18 on the CTS-V. The tires are designed to run without air, fully loaded, for up to 80 miles at speeds up to 50 miles an hour. A tire pressure monitor is standard with the vehicle to alert drivers when “any tire loses a considerable level of air pressure,” Goodyear said.
Goodyear also will supply its Eagle F1 GS-2 EMT (Extended Mobility Technology) tires to the 2005 Corvette, which will be available later this year. The tires are in size P245/40ZR18 in the front and P285/35ZR19 in the rear. Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar EMT tires will be the fitment for the optional Z51 performance package version of the Corvette.
