TIA's OTR meeting in Fla., Feb. 26-28
BOWIE, Md.-The Tire Industry Association will hold its annual Off-The-Road Conference Feb. 26-28 at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, Fla.
The conference will feature several presentations and seminars, including: ``OTR Tire Industry Update-Tires a Global World'' by Gary Nash, Yokohama Tire Corp.'s director of OTR sales; ``Energizing Yourself-Through Off-Road Racing'' by Walker Evans, owner of Walker Evans Racing Inc.; and ``A Discussion on Delivery of Mining Tires from the Dealer to the End User'' by Larry Noah, TIA's OTR Group chair, among others.
Becky MacDicken, TIA director of government affairs, will update attendees on legislative matters with an ``Inside Washington'' presentation, and Kevin Rohlwing, TIA's senior vice president of education & technical services, will present ``Training Your Employees.''
The conference also will feature a golf tournament Feb. 26 at the Falcon's Fire Golf Course with a shotgun scramble, best ball format and a $25,000 hole-in-one contest. Special team arrangements can be made by contacting John Buettner by Feb. 10 at (800) 876-8372.

Iowa dealers plan Feb. show
DES MOINES, Iowa-The Iowa Tire Dealers Association will hold its annual convention and trade show Feb. 27-28 at the Holiday Inn Airport in Des Moines.
The gathering will include seminars by the Iowa Society of Automotive Technicians and a seminar on marketing and advertising ideas presented by Drew McLellan, owner of a public relations/marketing company in Des Moines.
Trade show hours will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A presidents' reception and banquet will follow in the evening, along with entertainment by singing group One Part Harmony.
