LAS VEGAS (Nov. 6, 2003) — The new Chrysler PT Coupe Concept is wearing Bridgestone-brand Potenza S-03 Pole Position performance tires.
Bridgestone/Firestone (BFS) is providing the tires, size 245/45R19, for the concept vehicle, which debuted Nov. 5 at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA)/International Tire Expo trade show in Las Vegas. The car is a product of a design partnership between DaimlerChrysler A.G. and Decoma International, a Troy, Mich.-based exterior parts manufacturer that does specialty vehicle design, engineering, build and assembly.
“We are very pleased to have been chosen to supply tires for this exciting new concept vehicle,” said Michael Martini, president of Bridgestone/Firestone's OE Consumer Tire unit, in a prepared statement. “This continues the close relationship between Bridgestone/Firestone and the original equipment manufacturers. Our goal is to be the first tire choice when the OEMs are creating these show and concept vehicles.”
Nashville, Tenn.-based BFS said the PT Coupe Concept builds on the popularity of Chrysler's PT Cruiser, “but adds to the sporty nature of the original with a coupe model.” The Cruiser sibling features a monochromatic color scheme and is lowered as much as possible while still fitting a large plus-sized tire and wheel package into the wheel wells. Custom wheels on the vehicle are from Colorado Custom of Ft. Collins, Colo.
