WASHINGTON (Oct. 17, 2003) — The Specialty Equipment Market Association has named Conrad Wong director of the SEMA Action Network (SAN), a grassroots hobbyist organization.
Mr. Wong, who will work out of SEMA's Office of Government Relations in Washington, also is the aftermarket organization's director of government and public affairs. The Action Network is aimed at helping stamp out legislative threats affecting vehicles and the automotive aftermarket and instead passing favorable laws, SEMA said.
As director of SAN, Mr. Wong will work as a liaison between SEMA and thousands of car clubs, enthusiasts and hobbyists who make up the network. He also will edit The Driving Force, SAN's official monthly publication.
Mr. Wong worked as a trademark attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for 10 years and held a private law practice for five years prior to that, SEMA said.
