CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 15, 2003) — Carlisle Co. Inc. reported net income of $24.5 million on record third-quarter sales of $549.5 million, helped in part by higher sales of consumer outdoor power equipment and ATV tires and wheels by subsidiary Carlisle Tire & Wheel.
The company's earnings for the quarter were 10 percent higher than the year-ago period. Its Industrial Components sector saw a 3-percent increase in net sales to $151 million, which included the higher sales at the tire and wheel subsidiary.
For the whole company, net income was 23 percent higher than the year-ago level of $19.9 million. Net sales for the nine months ending Sept. 30 were $1.58 billion—5 percent above net sales for the first nine months of 2002, Carlisle said.
