NASHUA, N.H. (Sept. 19, 2003)—ASA Tire Systems Inc. and SonicWALL Inc., a provider of Internet security solutions, have agreed to partner and sell SonicWALL security products to tire dealers.
Available immediately, ASA Tire Systems will offer its customers SonicWALL's complete line of integrated security products, which will allow dealers to connect to their locations through the Internet instead of using costly dial-up connections, according to David Duchesne, ASA Tire Systems' director of sales and marketing. He said dealers could save anywhere from $100-$500 per month per location by switching from phone lines to SonicWALL's Internet-based connectivity products.
Users of ASA Tire Systems' TireMax and TirePro products as well as those with other software systems can hook up and use the Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) created by SonicWALL. ASA Tire Systems said it deploys SonicWALL firewall appliances for the highest level of security and reliability.
“Most of our stores already had Internet access for other business reasons, so the incremental monthly cost was negligible,” said Dean Porterfield, general manager of Tire King in Durham, N.C. “With the ASA Tire—SonicWALL solution, we were able to eliminate the monthly leased line expenses in those locations and utilizing VPN technology, we connected our stores securely while maintaining strong network performance.”
