DETROIT (Sept. 17, 2003) — BFGoodrich-brand tires will outfit the new 2004 Dodge SRT-4, a compact car built off the Neon platform for the DaimlerChrysler A.G. brand.
BFGoodrich's g-Force T/A KDW high-performance tires will be original equipment on the car's 17-inch rims, Michelin North America Inc. said. The SRT-4's tires will be size P205/50ZR17. The BFGoodrich tire is available in 13 sizes.
“The tire's excellent performance and exceptional grip will add to the SRT-4's already outstanding ride and handling,” said Brian Monprode, OE project manager for the BFGoodrich brand.
The unidirectional tread design, which includes deep circumferential and sharply angled lateral grooves, is designed to reduce hydroplaning for wet performance. Large block elements are designed for stability, wear and handling under high-torque conditions. The interior sides of the tread blocks also are reinforced for cornering, Michelin said.
Production of the SRT-4 began this summer, according to the tire maker.
