AKRON (Aug. 27, 2003)—Stephen McClellan will replace Ted Fick as vice president of Goodyear's North American Tire commercial business.
Mr. McClellan most recently served as president and chief operating officer of the company's Wingfoot Commercial Systems L.L.C. unit and oversaw the commercial division's financial turnaround, Goodyear said.
Mr. Fick, who was named to the post in 2001, is leaving to pursue other interests, Goodyear said. A spokesman said the move was not part of a management restructuring in the division.
“Ted decided to move on,” he said.
Mr. McClellan, 38, joined Goodyear as a trainee in January 1988. After serving the company in various finance positions, he was named general business manager for the retail organization in January 1999. He then moved to the Allied Tire business as general manager, followed by time as general business manager in the southern region before his assignment at Fort Smith, Ark.-based Wingfoot in 2001.
“Steve's leadership has had a tremendous positive impact on Wingfoot's results, and he has fostered a winning organizational culture in a short period of time,” said Jon Rich, president of North American Tire.
