JACKSON, Ga. (Aug. 25, 2003) — GreenMan Technologies Inc.'s waste wire processing facility in Jackson—the scene of a devastating fire March 31—probably won't be running again for another two or three months, according to a press release from the Lynnhaven, Mass.-based tire recycler.
The company removed all damaged waste wire processing equipment by early August and now awaits estimates on repairing or replacing the machinery. GreenMan officials, who couldn't be reached for further comment, had originally expected the waste wire operations in Jackson to be back online by the end of April.
No one was hurt in the March 31 blaze, and the tire shredding operations at the Jackson plant were back in operation within 24 hours of the fire.
