LAS VEGAS (Aug. 22, 2003)—Exhibitors at this year's Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA)/International Tire Expo (ITE) show can give potential buyers a test drive of their products.
Proving grounds, sponsored by Yokohama Tire Corp., will be available Nov. 4-6 during the show in Las Vegas. Located in the Orange Lot of the Las Vegas Convention Center, the proving grounds will include autocross-like circuits, slaloms and skidpads on the driving course. Various products can be demonstrated, including wheels, brakes, suspensions and vehicle handling systems.
Exhibitors must sign up for time slots at the grounds by Oct. 3. They can buy only one, four-hour time slot for $1,000. The five time slots each will be available to the first eight participating exhibitors. To be admitted to the proving grounds, buyers must have access passes from the registered exhibitors. SEMA organizers will provide the passes.
Organizers of the event said no exhibitors have signed up as of Aug. 21, but they are sending applications to garner interest.
