FINDLAY, Ohio (Aug. 20, 2003) — Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has expanded its line of performance tires with the Cooper Zeon XST, a light truck tire aimed at sport “tuned” trucks and sport-utility vehicles.
The Zeon XST features spiral-wound nylon overlap, a directional tread pattern and tire profile similar to the ultra-high performance Zeon 2XS, the Findlay-based tire maker said. The tire also sports a 45-day free road test warranty offering a full refund if the customer is not satisfied.
The H-rated tire now is available in 18- and 20-inch sizes for the replacement and tuned truck/SUV markets. Cooper said it plans to launch 22- and 23-inch sizes yet this year, followed by a 24-inch size in the first quarter of 2004.
“The sports truck segment is the fastest growing part of the performance tire market,” said Carl Casalbore, vice president of retail sales and high performance tire development for the Findlay-based tire maker. “The Zeon XST is more than just a large rim diameter tire, it's a tire that performs while it carries the weight of an SUV.”
