Goodyear has named Chris Grindem director, marketing services, for its North American Tire unit, responsible for developing campaigns for the tire maker's main brands of Goodyear, Dunlop and Kelly.
Mr. Grindem will develop marketing campaigns to support new products from North American Tire that will be targeted to both consumers and dealers. He has worked for a number of
advertising agencies, including Leo Burnett and Doner, as well as J. Walter Thompson in Detroit, where he was executive director of the firm's retail group.
``His strength is in the successful promotion of a retailer's business, which should prove to be a great benefit to Goodyear's extensive network of tire and service outlets,'' said Mike Kitz, vice president of marketing for North American Tire.
Mr. Grindem earned both his MBA and bachelor's of science degrees from Michigan State University. In his new position, he will report to Mr. Kitz, while Dave Lenox, Goodyear's director of marketing communications, North American Tire, will report to Mr. Grindem. Mr. Lenox will focus on the strategic development and execution of integrated marketing programs for Godyear-branded new products, the company said.
