GREENVILLE, S.C. (Aug. 14, 2003) — Michelin North America Inc.'s BFGoodrich brand recently won the NOPI Drag Racing Association's (NDRA) championship and added six 18-inch sizes to its street-legal drag radial tire line, the tire maker said.
BFGoodrich's Comp T/A Drag Radial won the NOPI championship for the second year in a row, Michelin said. Driver Paul Efantis made an 8.36-second pass at 166.7 mph, a world record, in the NDRA BFGoodrich Pro Street Class. The Michelin brand has sponsored the class for two years.
The drag radial got six new sizes, including P245/40R18, P265/40R18, P275/35R18, P295/35R18, P315/30R18 and P345/30R18. The tire line now has 13 dimensions, including three 14-inch tires, two 15-inch, two 17-inch and six 18-inch sizes.
The NDRA is the governing body of the NOPI The Fast and the Furious Racing Series, a sport-compact drag racing series.
