BRUSSELS, Belgium (July 28, 2003)—Goodyear's Eastern Europe, Africa and Middle East business unit will supply tires for Hungarocamion's fleet of 1,200 vehicles in Europe under a contract worth more than $1.6 million, the tire maker said.
Hungarocamion, based in Hungary, began in 1966 with 375 vehicles. It is now one of the largest international freight forwarding companies in Europe, Goodyear said.
Goodyear will supply a variety of drive, steer and trailer tires to the fleet, which travels about 90 million miles a year. Goodyear also will provide service through its Truck Force network, which includes sales and fitting of new tires, factory retreading, regrooving, tire tracking, fleet management and 24-hour service.
“When making the decision, the most important aspects were quality, security, guarantee and cost effectiveness,” said Zoltan Toth, technical manager at the fleet company. “Goodyear is the ideal partner for us as they are providing excellent-quality tires, full-service, instrumentation and guarantee at a reasonable price.”
