GREENVILLE, S.C. (July 23, 2003)—Michelin North America Inc. has moved production of its XZSL skid steer tires to Spartanburg, S.C., from central France, the Greenville-based tire maker said.
“Seventy-five percent of the global market for skid steer tires is located in North America,” said Michael Ford, market segment manager for skid steer tires at Michelin Earthmover.
Michelin claims the XZSL is the first radial tire developed for skid steer loaders and other light construction equipment. The tire maker said the radial tire, introduced in 1999, lasts longer and provides more reliable performance than similar-sized bias-ply tires.
