MILAN (June 10, 2003) — Pirelli P7 tires are original equipment on the recently debuted BMW 5 Series—an expansion of the relationship between the Italian tire maker and the German auto maker, Pirelli said.
The tires, in sizes 205/60R16 and 225/55R16, are ultra-high-performance tires with an asymmetric tread pattern designed for high-performance sedans and station wagons, Pirelli said. The tire was developed on the STEP platform—or Safety from Technically Engineered Profile—to maximize driving harmony, Pirelli said. The ELRR system, or Extra Low Rolling Resistance, is aimed at improving flexibility and increasing smooth progression, the tire maker claimed.
Pirelli also supplies P6000 Powergy tires for BMW's 3 Series; P Zero Rosso for the 7 Series; and the run-flat [email protected] for the Mini Cooper.
