Michelin North America Inc. said it is supplying its next generation Pilot Sport tires for the Chrysler Crossfire. The new tire features an asymmetric dual-compound tread, with the outer half of the tread containing a hybrid silica/carbon black compound tuned for cornering and traction and the inner half of the tread containing a high-silica compound for wet handling and high-speed durability. A full line of the next generation Pilot Sport tires will be available to the replacement market in 2004, Michelin said.
