AKRON (May 29, 2003) — Edward Fogarty has resigned from Goodyear's board of directors, leaving the board with 10 members.
Mr. Fogarty, 66, cited increasing time commitments as reason for his decision. A former chairman, president and CEO of Tambrands Inc., he has been a member of Goodyear's board since June 2000.
A company spokesman said the board has not decided if it will appoint someone to fill Mr. Fogarty's position. At the company's annual meeting earlier this month, the board approved a measure requiring at least nine board members but no more than 15. Previously, the board could have 11 to 19 members.
