DUNCAN, S.C. (May 21, 2003) — Tire Centers L.L.C. plans to build a new Michelin Retread Technologies Inc. retread plant—TCI's 14th—in an existing complex in Antioch, Tenn.
With 30,000 square feet of manufacturing space, the new plant will push the complex's total space to 75,000 square feet, TCI said. Duncan-based TCI is a wholly owned subsidiary of Michelin North America Inc.
The new facility will provide pre-mold MRTI retread tires to fleets and commercial customers through the central and eastern Tennessee and northern Alabama regions. Distribution will go through TCI locations in Nashville, Tenn.; Chattanooga, Tenn.; Decatur, Ala.; and Huntsville, Ala. The company said the new facility is slated to open in early August.
“We are looking forward to a rapid ramp-up of our operations and a very positive relationship with the commercial sales teams and local business,” said Larry White, vice president of manufacturing for TCI.
