PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. (May 15, 2003) — The Tire Retread Information Bureau (TRIB) plans to distribute nearly 55,000 brochures about the importance of proper tire inflation at 109 locations in North America during the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance's Roadcheck 2003, June 3-5.
The brochure—titled “What are the high costs of low air pressure?”—discusses the importance of commercial truckers maintaining proper tire pressure. The publication is part of the “Ask the Tire Doctor” series, which originally appeared in Real questions, Real answers, Bridgestone/Firestone's tire magazine. The tire maker authorized use of the materials and also is covering a portion of the costs for distributing the brochures, according to Pacific Grove-based TRIB.
Roadcheck 2003, in its 16th year, is sponsored by the CVSA and is designed to improve commercial vehicle safety in North America, TRIB said.
Meanwhile, TRIB announced that the CVSA is the latest organization to abecome a TRIB member.
CVSA comprises federal, state and provincial government agencies and representatives from private industry in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, and is dedicated to improving commercial vehicle safety. The group's Web site is at www.cvsa.org.
