Prices of light highway, original equipment and replacement truck radials rose 2.4 percent in October 2002 from the same period in 2001, according to the Labor Department's Producer Price Index.
Radial truck tire prices also rose from the prior year by 1.5 percent despite dipping 0.1 percent from July and remaining unchanged from September.
Prices of passenger tires and radials remained unchanged from September but were up 0.1 percent from 2001.
Truck and bus tire prices dipped 0.1 percent from September and 0.2 percent from July despite rising 1 percent from a year ago. Meanwhile, prices of non-radial truck tires remained unchanged from September but decreased 1.4 percent from 2001.
