DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (May 1, 2003) — George Finch of American Racing Custom Wheels has been named chairman-elect of the Specialty Equipment Market Association's Wheel Industry Council (WIC), effective July 1.
At that time, the council´s current chairman-elect, Doug Frymer of the law offices of Douglas A. Frymer, will take over as WIC chairman.
SEMA said Mr. Finch, a member of the WIC Select Committee, has extensive knowledge of and experience on the current standards and practices for wheel design safety, testing and part validation. American Racing is based in Rancho Dominguez, Calif.
Ballots for other WIC Select Committee members were mailed to council members last month.
WIC membership is open to all companies that manufacture, import or are the sole, exclusive distributors of custom wheels or which serve as subcontractors to the wheel industry. Members work through subcommittees to address the council´s educational, technical and communications needs. According to SEMA, the council is “dedicated to addressing the challenges facing the custom wheel industry,” and focuses its efforts on preserving and promoting this segment of the specialty equipment market.
