ALEXANDRIA, Va. (March 26, 2003) — Trent Longo, senior development engineer at Goodyear, was honored recently by the Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) of the American Trucking Associations Inc. as a “recognized associate” for his “outstanding contributions to the improvement of equipment, its maintenance and maintenance management.”
Mr. Longo was one of four recipients of the TMC's award at the council's recent annual meeting in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The others were Kenneth Claar, program manager, Lubrizol Corp., Wickliffe, Ohio; Fred Hopper, business unit manager, TMD Friction Inc., Holly, Mich.; and Carl Smith, vice president of sales, Sure Power Industries Inc., Tualatin, Ore.
The TMC gives the award annually to associate members who have:
* Given a minimum of five years of active service in support of TMC leadership and/or activities;
* Supported TMC by organizing, chairing and participating in several sessions, or who have served as sergeants of arms or other supporting meeting functions;
* Contributed service to the council in areas separate from their individual technical expertise or business interests; and
* Earned the respect of their peers in the trucking industry.
The TMC is a professional technical society for fleet equipment and information technology managers in North America.
