NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 14, 2003) — With National Car Care Month around the corner in April, Bridgestone/Firestone is encouraging its dealers to join the effort with BFS's Car Care Academy for consumers.
National Car Care Month, sponsored by the Car Care Council, is in April this year instead of October. In turn, BFS said it recently expanded its consumer academy to teach motorists the basics in automotive maintenance, namely tire inflation, fluids and belts. BFS supplies a workshop kit to dealers that includes instructor and participant guides, presentation materials, giveaways and other support materials.
“The tire and automotive service provider is often the person a consumer will go to for car-care advice,” said Paul Chizeck, manager of BFS family dealer retail marketing. “This workshop helps position the retailer as the automotive expert in his or her market.”
Dealers interested in their program can contact their local representative, BFS said.
