AKRON (March 13, 2003) — Goodyear will auction off equipment from the mold manufacturing facility in Stow, Ohio that it closed last year.
The auction, which is being run by auctioneer DoveBid Inc., will be at 9 a.m. EST March 19 at 4700 Hudson Dr. in Stow. Participants either can bid on items in person or live via the Internet from www.dovebid.com. The Web site also has information for previewing the assets.
The auction will include all of the assets from the facility, including engraving, aluminum foundry, heat treat, finishing and tool room equipment.
Akron-based Goodyear closed the facility last fall because of an overall reduction in demand for molds and the high cost structure of the plant, the company said. Thirty-two salaried and 120 hourly employees worked at the facility, which previously had been working at about one-third capacity.
