DANVILLE, Va. (March 6. 2003) — Goodyear is so confident of the superior quality of its new G395 LHS radial truck steer tire that it is offering an unprecedented, seven-year warranty on the casing, covering unlimited mileage and up to three retreadings.
The company also is offering what it calls its “Steer Tire Challenge,” according to Walt Weller, Goodyear director of marketing-commercial systems: It guarantees that the G395 LHS will exceed the road mileage of any comparable, competitive steer tire, or else it will retread the tire free of charge.
Akron-based Goodyear — which last month introduced the steer tire — makes the G395 LHS only at its Danville truck tire plant, using its revolutionary IMPACT manufacturing technology.
In conjunction with the new tire's debut, the company presented journalists with a tour of the Danville facility and its IMPACT system.
