BATHESDA, Md. (March 4, 2003) — The Automotive Service Association plans to educate its 12,000 members about the Car Care Council's “Be Car Care Aware” campaign, the Bathesda-based council said.
As part of its endorsement of the program, the ASA will inform its members, most of whom are automotive service shop owners, about the campaign as well as give them ideas for participating, a spokesman said. Most of the information will be distributed through the association's magazine for members, he added.
The “Be Car Care Aware” campaign is a marketing and public relations consumer education program to increase motorists' awareness about vehicle care, maintenance and repair.
“Not only is ASA supporting the ambitious ‘Be Car Care Aware' campaign from a national trade association platform, but we see it as a tremendous opportunity for our members to get involved in an industry-wide initiative at the local level to help market and expand their business,” said Ron Pyle, ASA president.
