WAYNE, N.J. (Feb. 18, 2003) — Castrol North America Inc.'s Continuing Automotive Service Education (CASE) Program has received ASE certification.
The CASE program includes a self-study lube technician certification CD-ROM program as well as Castrol's installer Business Development Training Program. ASE certification — from the non-profit National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) — is valid for three years for the CASE program. Castrol said it is the only lubricants company to receive this certification.
Although ASE does not provide certification for specific programs, Castrol said there are varying designations for instructor-led instruction and stand-alone, self-study instruction and the firm currently has training programs that fall in both categories. The company's newest CASE activity — a Web-based Synthetic Motor Oil Education Program — will be available by the end of February. Its Web site is at www.castrolusa.com.
