Continental Tire North America Inc. plans to introduce two additions to its premium line of radial off-the-road tires, the TGS2 and TGD2.
The Charlotte-based tire maker said the Continental brand tires, representing ``the latest in off-the-road radial technology,'' are made possible by integrating CTNA's ``global resources and engineering prowess.''
The TGS2 is designed for motorgrader applications. It offers a non-directional tread pattern and self-cleaning properties for all-season performance. Special siping make the TGS2 ``especially effective in snowy or icy conditions'' and where outstanding traction is needed, Conti said. It will initially be available in size 14.00R24.
CTNA called the TGD2 a versatile tire designed for both wheel loader and articulated truck applications. Initially available in sizes 20.5R25 and 23.00R25, it comes with a directional tread pattern and offers ``outstanding flotation properties for wet and muddy conditions,'' the company said.
