AKRON (Jan. 21, 2003)—Susan E. Arnold, president of Proctor & Gamble Co.'s global personal beauty care and global feminine care business, was elected the 13th member of Goodyear's board of directors, the Akron-based tire maker said.
Ms. Arnold, who joined Cincinnati-based P&G in 1980, held a series of marketing and management positions, including vice president and general manager of the North American laundry and fabric conditioner products. The beauty and feminine care business is valued at $8 billion, Goodyear said in a statement.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pittsburgh, she was named a “Top Marketer” by Advertising Age magazine and one of the 50 most powerful women in business by Forbes magazine. Ms. Arnold also sits on boards for the Cincinnati Zoo and Reflect.com.
“Susan has a distinguished track record in marketing strategy, product development and leadership,” said Goodyear Chairman Sam G. Gibara in a statement.
