CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Jan. 20, 2003)—Citing growing demand for custom wheels, American Tire Distributors has added three brands and 45 styles to its 2003 wheel lineup.
The Charlotte-based company said it will offer the Equus, Mossa and Zora brands, bringing its wheel offerings to 15 brands and more than 140 styles. ATD said 46 of those styles have rim diameters greater than 20 inches.
The Equus line will include five chrome-plated styles for light trucks and sport-utility vehicles with rims ranging from 16 to 24 inches. The Mossa line includes two passenger car styles and two SUV styles in 18 to 24 inches. The Zora brand has five chrome styles for luxury vehicles with rims 17 to 23 inches.
“The growth of sport-utility vehicle sales has increased the need for a whole new offering of wheel sizes to fit larger, heavier vehicles while still allowing the individuality of a customer to stand out,” said Richard P. “Dick” Johnson, president and CEO of ATD.
The offerings are part of 45 new styles ATD is implementing in 2003. Other new styles include:
* Seven new styles each in its Pacer and ICW Racing brands. Six of the Pacer wheels range in size from 13 to 22 inches, and the seven ICW Racing styles range from 14 to 19 inches.
* Three new chrome-plated styles of the Panther brand targeted at the growing sport-utility market.
* Three Ford replica wheels, including fitments for the 2002 Mustang Cobra, the Mach 1 Cobra and the 2002 Ford Lightning.
* Eleven other styles in the existing lines of Akuza, Centerline, Cragar Classic and Ultra.
