Yokohama Tire Corp. recently introduced a high-performance broadline radial with some features aimed at the street tuner market.
The Fullerton-based tire maker said its Avid H4s/V4s, available in the second half of 2003, has a rim protector bar to help protect expensive wheels from pothole and curb damage. Reinforced construction and extra load designation effectively provide increased load-carrying capacity for plus-size capability, according to the company.
The Avid H4s/V4s features a computer simulated, aggressive tread pattern providing more even treadwear to extend tire life. The tire's optimum angle and unidirectional tread pattern combine for maximum water drainage without increasing noise, the company said, and help deliver increased handling and all-season traction.
Offering a 45,000-mile limited treadwear warranty-except for 40/45 series sizes-and UTQG rating of 360/AA, the Avid H4s/V4s comes in 40-, 45-, 50-, 55-, 60-, 65- and 70- series aspect ratios and in 14- through 17-inch rim diameter sizes to fit most popular performance vehicles.
