YORK, S.C. (Dec. 31, 2002) – American Eagle Wheel Corp., producer of alloy wheels under the Boss Motorsports, Eagle and MSR brand names, plans to spend $10 million over the next five years to expand manufacturing capacity in York and move Atlantic Seaboard warehousing to York from a site in Charlotte, N.C.
Chino, Calif.-based American Eagle will spend about $3 million to build a 105,000-sq.-ft. warehouse adjacent to its 120,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing plant in York. The new warehouse should be operating by August 2003, according to William Van de Nobelen, plant manager.
The expansions should create 60 new jobs in York, where American Eagle employs 300.
American Eagle Wheel claims to be America´s oldest privately held and family-owned maker of car and light truck aluminum wheels for the aftermarket. The company manufactures at its plants in York and Chino, and operates 40 warehouses in the U.S., Mexico, Canada and Puerto Rico.
